Our packaging

We have designed a flexible packaging that fits into the professional painters workflow while minimizing the use of plastic and CO2 emissions compared to the traditional bucket. The packaging consists of a cardboard box and a specially designed bag. It is designed with the needs of painters in mind, eliminating the many ergonomic challenges of heavy lifting and pouring. Traditionally, painters have to pour paint from a heavy bucket, but with our solution they can roll it directly from the bag into the cardboard box. Tests with over 100 professional painters have confirmed the benefits of the product, with 84% preferring this solution over traditional buckets.

How-to video

Step 1

Open the cardboard box.

Step 2

Open the bag, by breaking the seal.

Step 3

Wrap the bag around the edges of the cardboard box.

Step 4

When needed, close the bag with the clasp.

The closing tool

A reusable closing tool, that enables the painter to easily close the packaging and effortlessly open it again when ready to use.

Key benefits

Waste sorting

Our solution is designed for easy sorting, with the bag and cardboard easily separated. Unlike existing solutions that combine metal and plastic, this simple design makes recycling and disposal more efficient, reducing environmental impact.

Transportation

Transporting round buckets on square pallets is inefficient. We can fit 45% more paint per pallet, reducing CO2 and transportation costs, while optimizing space in stores and warehouses. Our empty packaging takes up just 1/10 the space of traditional buckets.

User convenience

It is easier to handle and significantly reduces CO2 emissions, making it both more climate-friendly and economically more efficient. This leads to lower handling costs and a smaller carbon footprint, benefiting both businesses and the planet.

Sustainability

Sustainability is one of the key drivers for our business and a core value for our team. These are the four pillars in our sustainability agenda

Plastic reduction

The packaging reduces plastic use by up to 88% compared to traditional paint buckets, significantly lowering environmental impact. This cut in plastic also results in up to 76% reduction in CO2 emissions from materials and manufacturing. By using more sustainable materials and improving production, we help reduce the carbon footprint of our products.

Minimizing CO2 in production

By rethinking material usage, we can reduce CO2 throughout the product life cycle. By transferring structural strength from plastic to cardboard, we minimize plastic use, which is responsible for most CO2 emissions. In logistics, optimizing space allows us to transport more packaging per pallet, saving CO2. In production, we reduce CO2 emissions by up to 76%.

Circular design

The plastic bucket is often disposed of as hazardous waste or incineration and cannot be recycled. We have designed the packaging with the intent to reduce the surface amount of the packaging that comes into contact with the paint as much as possible. Hence we keep 86% of the packaging (the cardboard) clean and easy to recycle.

Social sustainability

We've designed our product with the painter in mind, focusing on minimizing heavy lifts and awkward positions. To reduce strain, we've made it possible to roll directly from the packaging, eliminating the need for pouring. Additionally, our boxes are designed to be carried one at a time, close to the body, to ease the load.
